We all buy packaged food items from the market without knowing if it’s healthy or not. But, we should really avoid those food items which are really causing us to be sick.

This is because the food items we consume daily consist of palm oil, sugar and flour (maida). These items reduce our lifespan by 15 years.

Here are some ways by which you can avoid being sick often or die faster.

1. Biscuits and cookies

Biscuits and cookies are items which are consumed by us daily. But, we don’t know what severe problems we are having on eating these.

While buying a pack of biscuits, always do check the ingredients list. If it contains palm oil, sugar or maida and are in the first ingredients, then it is unhealthy.

Today’s children eat a lot of biscuits. Even if your child eats 4 biscuits daily, then he eats 120 biscuits a month which means 67 teaspoons of sugar.

Alternatives:

  • Almonds, nuts and cashew: They have more nutrients than biscuits and taste very similar to butter biscuits or like that.
  • Roasted chickpeas (chana) or makhana: Many people regard these as a snack but it is actually healthy. Remember to eat only homemade ones because street vendors just let the containers open.
  • Fruits: Fruits are a widely popular alternative for tea and biscuits and everyone should really consume it.

2. Packaged juices and drinks

We all buy packaged and bottled juices, cold drinks and beverages. This is because they have a lot of sugar and preservatives which makes them poisonous.

If you keep a glass of marketed juice open, you would see flies are not sitting on them because it has been completed spoiled.

300 ml of juice contains 49 g of sugar on average. However, no packaged juices are healthy because they can’t be sold without preservatives.

Alternatives:

Packaged juices have no healthy alternatives but you can just make homemade fruit juice and add 2 teaspoon sugar. That’s it!

3. Jam, jelly and lozenges

These are widely known to be complete with bread or rotis but the unhealthy effects are severe. Even eating a single lozenge takes 3 seconds from your lifespan.

You can just stop eating lozenges. And for additions on bread, you can try eggs, butter or tarkas. Remember that consuming these on a regular basis is unhealthy too.

4. Ketchup and sauce

You might be surprised but ketchups have more sugar than jam or butter. This is because tomato ketchups are originally too spicy so brands add sugar to balance the taste.

Ketchup advertisers advertise and recommend to use it on everything like spinach, pizzas, burgers and even vadas.

The labels you see like the one above are fake. Any brand can use any trademark like fresh, no sugar, etc. legally. So, always check the ingredients because it is illegal to show incorrect ingredients.

Instead of ketchup, you can use

  • Mint chutney
  • Homemade spices
  • Chutneys

5. Chips and packed snacks

We all eat chips and other snacks even though we know even it’s unhealthy. But they contain too much palm oil and deep fried items that it makes them unhealthier than burgers.

Brands such as Lays, Kurkure and Too Yum use unprocessed palm oil, making them cause heart problems and collapse your mucus.

This occurs with noodles, pasta and every snack you know. People may call atta noodles as healthy but they contain banned preservatives, making them unhealthier than regular noodles.

Note: I am not writing this article to promote or oppose any brand. I am writing this to raise public awareness but I had 0 intension for writing this article. Stay safe, stay healthy.
