Reasons why you shouldn’t buy a Micromax phone.

If you are an Indian, do you remember the once legendary and nostalgic phone brand of Micromax?

Micromax has been the most used and popular brand in the time around 2015 and earlier. It is popular as the only Indian brand who is surviving till 2024. But we all know that the best Indian phone brand is now Lava. Micromax calls it itself a “Deshbhakt Brand” but it’s only for business.

But even though Micromax is even lazier and unsteady than before, it has still launched their In series which is Re-continuing from 2020. Here’s why you shouldn’t buy them.

1. Battery issue. (very highly common)

The battery issue is perhaps the most popular and common issue among Micromax users. After just 3 months, the battery capacity will decrease by 40% and continue till you use your phone.

Also, the hardware cost of the battery and other parts is so cheap that it is still removable. Just open the back using a knife or tweezer and take the battery. You can easily do it safely at home.

The thing is Micromax is using a decade-old technology. This technology was suitable for batteries of 2,000–2,500 maAh but they’re putting a modern battery of 5,000 maAh. That’s why it is defective and perhaps, explosive.

2. No software updates (?)

Micromax’s latest OS version is still Android 11 while the latest is Android 15 Beta, though it is only on Google phones. Even though it is technically not outdated, Android 15 is launching, making it render useless.

Also, Micromax never announces or tells anything on its social media accounts. It just posts videos of ads of its new phones and products. This is probably that most employees at Micromax left their job.

3. Untrusted and unknown software or OS.

Micromax is still continuing Indus OS, which is highly unpopular among the people. Also, nobody knows about it.

Well, even though nobody knows about it, it has a Software updates section but no Feedbacks section. This means Micromax is not listening to its users.

Indus OS works completely like stock Android but people don’t know why they put it. It maybe secretly collecting people’s data or installed malware or spyware. This makes it much sus to buy a Micromax phone.

4. Slower Google Play system updates, glitches and power off issues.

According to Micromax’s response to these all issues, they said it depends on usage and the way you use your phone. I also accept it that phones start lagging and glitching on use but they should be guilty of it.

I would never recommend Micromax for a working professional or student because your boss or teacher would not understand and think you intentionally left the conference for boredom or to show disrespect.

5. Helpless service centers.

If your phone gets faulty, you will of course visit a service center. In my hometown, New Delhi, there are four Micromax service centers and I called each of them. Here’s what I got:

Issue: Screen replacement of Micromax In 2b.

1st center: No response/didn’t accept

2nd center: No response/didn’t accept

3rd center: “Sorry sir, we currently do not have the parts and screen for it. Please get it at a service shop.”

4th center: “We are currently not having it. It may come in 2–3 months and there’s no guarantee.”
